Karoline is a playwright whose work has been performed on BBC radio, in the West End and off-Broadway. The research that culminated in In the Shadow of the Dreamchild began after she discovered the now famous 'cut pages in diary' document while researching in the Dodgson family archive for a projected screenplay. Writing up the discovery for the Times Literary Supplement, she began to realise the gap there seemed to be between many of the most famous beliefs about Lewis Carroll's life and the actual evidence in the case.
